Q & A: Trish Raine

Canadian artist Trish Raine, best know for her beautifully crafted hats, recently sat down with felt::feutre to answers questions about her inspirations and  working process.  Raine's work is part of felt::feutre's upcoming felting exhibition which will travel across North America and over to Europe.  Trish uses our fast felting Short Fiber Merino Wool to create hats, jackets, tunics, shawls, and more!

Performance Crafting: Tanya Aguiñiga

Tijuana-born, L.A.-based artist Tanya Aguiñiga is known for her furniture that is covered with felt. For her "performance crafting" collaboration with Artbound, she trades place with her objects, and invites a group of workers to cover her from head-to-toe in felt.

The August 2011 issue of W Magazine features a story about the French fashion house, Hermès and its collaboration with Mongolian feltmakers to create a seamless felted jacket for its Fall 2011 Ready-To-Wear Collection. According to W, "that jacket was one of the stand-out pieces in the fall collection, which is now being shipped to Hermès stores."
