Go green and support New England farms! Feltmaker Christine White will lead a weekend workshop on how to felt a durable, lasting rug for your home using selected wools from the Pioneer Valley and other small farms farther a-field. We’ll be using beautiful, rich, hand-dyed wools and embellishments to decorate the background of natural sheep colors (brown, white or gray). Materials fees will vary depending on the size of the rug and type of wool used (approx. $85 for a 3′ x 4′ embellished rug).
Rugmaking is a very physical process and participants should plan accordingly. Discount registration is offered for two people who would like to participate in the class as a team – great for couples or for friends who need a special wedding gift for a mutual acquaintance! Please note that while no prior experience is required, the workshop does require physical endurance.
